University
Street Ministry brings together the civic community and
people of all faith traditions in committed service to
homeless youth, young adults and their futures. We
provide meals and outreach case management in
the University District of Seattle, Washington.
University
Street Ministry serves over 10,000 meals each year to
more than 400 homeless youth at Teen Feed. We also
help youth find housing and jobs through Service Links
for Youth, the only outreach-based case management in
Seattle's University District. In fact, last year 29 young
people left the street life behind; 38 found employment and
33 accessed education with help from our case manager. But
the need is larger than our small non-profit. Won't you join
the effort to help these young people?
What do homeless youth say about University Street
Ministry?
“Teen Feed literally saved my life when I was
homeless. I hadn’t eaten for four days, and I didn’t
know where to get any food. I stumbled into the YMCA and
asked if they had any and they gave me directions to
Teen Feed. When I got there, I met a USM outreach case
manager, and she told me about shelter, and other
programs in the U-District.”
“[Case manager] Megan has helped me get my
Washington State I.D. and she has helped me with housing
and work.”
“Teen Feed provides a warm place to eat food because
I don’t have food.”
“[Case manager] Megan helped me write a resume, so I
could apply for jobs.”
“I get to meet new people at Teen Feed who encourage
and uplift homeless youth.”"
